Farscape Cast Montage

My name is John Crichton, an astronaut.... A radiation wave hit me, and I got shot through a wormhole. Now I'm lost in some distant part of the universe on a ship -- a living ship full of strange alien life forms. Help.... Help.... Listen, please.... Is anyone out there who can hear me? I'm being hunted by an insane military commander.... Doing everything I can. I'm just looking for a way home....

4
"Premiere"

While testing a theory in his experimental space vehicle, Farscape One, astronaut John Crichton is thrust through a wormhole in space and finds himself in the middle of a raging battle on the other side of the Universe. After accidently causing another one-man ship's destruction, he is brought aboard Moya, a living ship serving as a Peacekeeper prison transport...

Farscape Files
Translator microbes make it possible for all of the different species of Farscape to communicate. The microbes are usually injected at birth, colonize at the base of the brain and allow their host to understand other languages.

5
"Premiere"

Moya's escaped prisoners, Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan, Ka D'Argo and Dominar Rygel XVI, have taken command of the ship and StarBurst away from Captain Crais and his Command Carrier. One Peacekeeper Prowler is drawn with Moya through StarBurst and its pilot, Officer Aeryn Sun, is imprisoned on Moya with Crichton. Crichton helps Aeryn escape from captivity on Moya, and the two find their way to a nearby planet where Officer Sun awaits her commanding officer, Captain Crais. D'Argo lands to retrieve Crichton and Aeryn, but Crais arrives and accuses Crichton of killing his brother Tauvo, the pilot of the one-man craft Crichton scraped when he first arrived...

Farscape Files
When the prisoners first take command of Moya, she is still encumbered by the Peacekeeper control collar. The collar subdues, restrains and effectively enslaves the Leviathan. While in the control collar, Leviathans are unable to StarBurst.

6
"Premiere"

When Officer Sun tries to defend Crichton, Crais deems her "Irreversibly Contaminated" and orders Crichton, D'Argo and Aeryn imprisoned. The three manage to escape and find their way back to Moya. Unable to StarBurst, Moya is a sitting duck as Crais aims his PK frag cannons at the defenseless Leviathan. With microts to spare, Crichton puts his theory to the test. With Aeryn Sun at the helm, Moya uses the planet's gravitational pull to increase her velocity and escapes from Crais' carrier, thus heading farther into the Uncharted Territories.

Guest Cast: Kent McCord (Jack Crichton), Lani Tupu (Crais), Murray Bartlett (DK), Christine Stephen-Daly (Lt. Teeg)

7
"I, E.T."

When a Peacekeeper tracking beacon is activated, Moya lands on the Earth-like planet Denea and submerges in a muddy bog to muffle the device's transmissions. Rygel is assigned to cut Moya's tendrils free of the beacon while Crichton, Aeryn and D'Argo leave the ship in search of Clorium, a substance that will numb the intense pain caused by removing the PK beacon from Moya...

Farscape Files
The Paddac beacon is a passive tracking device. Installed in Moya when the Peacekeepers enslaved her, it started broadcasting a tracking signal when it stopped receiving a regular impulse from the control collar.

8
"I, E.T."

As he searches for Clorium on the planet's surface, Crichton is discovered by a young boy, Fostro, and his mother, Lyneea. After Crichton convinces them of his peaceful intentions, they supply him with Clorium, but before he can return to Moya, the military arrives at Lyneea's farm -- holding D'Argo in captivity...

Farscape Files
The element Clorium (an atmospherically induced isotope of twinium) is quite common, but it is one of a Leviathan's six forbidden cargos, unable to carry the substance because it numbs them. Inhabitants of Denea refer to Clorium as Onlux and use it as a food seasoning.

9
"I, E.T."

Young Fostro helps Crichton free D'Argo and they return to Moya with the Clorium. Thanks to Zhaan's ability to share pain, Rygel has managed to complete the removal of the Paddac Beacon. her pain relieved by the Clorium, Moya launches back into space.

Guest Cast: Mary Mara (Lyneea), Cayde Tasker (Fostro), Boris Brkic (Commander Ryymax)

10
"Exodus From Genesis"

Moya becomes infested by Draks -- giant space cockroaches intent on using the ship as a nest for their young. Higher temperatures aboard the ship cause Aeryn to suffer from Sebacean Heat Delirium. All attempts to bring the temperature to optimum levels fail and the Draks begin to create identical "replicants" of Moya's crew to defend their nest...

Farscape Files
Sebaceans like Aeryn Sun lack the gland necessary to regulate extreme thermal increases. As such, they are prone to Sebacean Heat Delirium. As their cells overheat, the nervous system shuts down. They first lose short-term memory, then motor functions, and finally long-term memory. The condition ends with a state of living death.

11
"Exodus From Genesis"

The Queen Drak channels herself through Zhaan and Crichton is able to communicate with her. An agreement is reached -- to allow the Draks to complete the gestation period aboard Moya. While Moya's crew care for ailing Aeryn in their quarters -- an area of the ship the Draks have agreed to keep habitable -- a Peacekeeper Marauder commando team lands on the ship...

Farscape Files
The dentic is a small leech like creature used by the crew of Moya for oral hygiene. It crawls around the person's mouth, eating all of the undigested food particles and bacteria. The most important rule of its use: never swallow the dentic.

12
"Exodus From Genesis"

The arrival of the PK commandos leads the Drak Queen to believe she has been betrayed. As she increases the ship's temperature, Rygel is sent to negotiate with the monarch. The PK commandos are struck down by the heat and are forced off the ship. The Draks complete the gestation cycle and leave Moya. The environmental settings return to normal and Aeryn recovers.

13
"Throne For A Loss"

Rygel masquerades as a powerful sovereign (complete with one of Moya's vital components in his "scepter") in order to impress a group of Tavleks boarding Moya for a bartering session. The Tavleks kidnap Rygel and take him to the planet surface, but leave behind one of their own men -- and his gauntlet weapon...

Farscape Files
Tavlek gauntlets clamp onto users' forearms and can only be removed when the wearer is unconscious. The device injects an addictive stimulant into the bloodstream, giving its user increased strength, endurance and a built-in blasting weapon.

14
"Throne For A Loss"

As Crichton, Aeryn and D'Argo go to the surface in search of Rygel and the power crystal with which he absconded, Zhaan tries to help their wounded Tavlek prisoner over the effects of stimulant withdrawal. With help from the gauntlet, Crichton, Aeryn and D'Argo track down the Tavlek encampment, but Rygel is gone (and so is Moya's power crystal)...

Farscape Files
When D'Argo is wounded, he must be healed by increasing blood flow from the wound. Once the blood runs clear, the wound is cleansed of toxins and D'Argo is out of danger.

15
"Throne For A Loss"

As the gauntlet injects its last drops of stimulant into Crichton's arm, he finds Rygel in the hands of Tavlek leader Bekhesh. Crichton explains that the group has no riches to exchange for Rygel. Onboard Moya, Tavlek captive Kyr confirms this for his leader. Rygel is returned and Kyr is sent back to the planet surface. Moya is again underway -- once Rygel can retrieve the power crystal from his internal "hiding place."

16
"Back & Back & Back To The Future"

Responding to a ship in distress, Moya rescues two Ilanic passengers -- Verell, a scientist, and his beautiful companion, Matala. Since Luxans and Ilanics are genetically related, D'Argo befriends them both. Meanwhile, after investigating the Ilanic ship, Crichton starts to experience temporal displacement -- momentarily flashing forward in time...

Farscape Files
D'Argo may be a warrior, but he has an ear for music. In his spare time, he has been building a Shilquen -- a kind of Luxan lute.

17
"Back & Back & Back To The Future"

Matala's talents for seduction throw D'Argo off balance and he allies with her. Verell and Matala reveal their true mission to D'Argo -- the field testing of a new weapon. Crichton continues to experience premonitions and tries to alter the future -- but no matter what course he follows, the results are disastrous.

Farscape Files
Three cycles ago, Scorvians attacked an outlying Ilanic colony. As a result, the Ilanic sector is at war with the Scorvians.

18
"Back & Back & Back To The Future"

When Matala attacks her with a Scorvian Neural Stroke, Aeryn determines that their female guest is not Ilanic, but a genetically altered Scorvian spy. Crichton learns his temporal flashes are being caused by Verell's ultimate weapon -- a minute particle of a black hole. Before Matala can rendezvous with an approaching Scorvian ship and hand over Verell's weapon, Crichton finally finds a course of action that does not end in total disaster.

19
"Thank God It's Friday...Again"

In a fit of Luxan Hyper-Rage, D'Argo leaves Moya for the surface of the planet Sykar. When the others land to search for him, they find a once technologically sophisticated civilization now hypnotically laboring in fields harvesting a single crop -- Tannot root. D'Argo has found a home among the workers and does not wish to return to Moya. While on the planet surface, Rygel's proximity to an explosion convinces him that he is the subject of an assassination attempt. Aeryn takes him back to the ship, while Crichton and Zhaan stay behind to try to bring D'Argo home...

Farscape Files
Luxan Hyper Rage is a condition that seizes Luxan males at a certain age. In order to defuse it, they must kill another male.

20
"Thank God It's Friday...Again"

As did D'Argo, Zhaan falls prey to the hypnotic effect of the Tannot, while Crichton is rendered immune -- thanks to a worm inserted into his body by members of the naturally immune Sykaran resistance movement. Volmae, the leader of the Sykarans reveals the vast warehouse of Tannot root to Crichton -- who notices Peacekeeper markings in the complex. Volmae asks Crichton to use Moya to transport her and a large supply of the root off the planet...

Farscape Files
Freezing temperature in the world of Farscape is referred to as "the glarion frost point." When Rygel is frozen while Aeryn analyzes his condition, he is taken to 105 degrees below the glarion frost point.

21
"Thank God It's Friday...Again"

On Moya, Aeryn discovers that Rygel himself was the cause of the explosion on the planet surface -- due to a chemical reaction between the Tannot and his metabolism. Crichton, with help from the Sykaran resistance and Rygel's bodily excretions, helps the Sykarans break free of the effect of the Tannot. By giving them the formula to turn Tannot into Chakan oil, and the schematics for the pulse rifle, the crew of Moya give the Sykarans a means of defense from the tyranny of the Peacekeepers.

22
"PK Tech Girl"

While exploring the dead hulk of the legendary Peacekeeper Command Carrier Zelbinion, Crichton and Aeryn discover Gilina, a Peacekeeper Tech assigned to the ship by Crais in hopes of bringing the ship back to life. While Rygel, who was once imprisoned on the Zelbinion, confronts his fear of his former torturer, Durka, a ship carrying ruthless Sheyang scavengers arrives to salvage the Peacekeeper ship.

Farscape Files
In the world of Farscape, distance is measured in metras. While we don't know how long a metra is, we do know that a PK frag cannon's range is 45 metras. Thus, we can infer a metra is analogous to a kilometer or a mile.

23
"PK Tech Girl"

While Crichton and Gilina work together (very closely) to activate the Zelbinion's defense screens to protect Moya, D'Argo tries to buy time with the Sheyangs with two talents he lacks -- negotiation and bluffing.

Farscape Files
DRDs, or Diagnostic Repair Drones, are the small mechanical robots which assist Pilot in monitoring Moya's systems -- making repairs as needed. The DRDs will protect Moya from anything they perceive as harmful.

24
"PK Tech Girl"

The Sheyangs grow impatient and attack, but the Zelbinion's defense screens protect Moya. Gilina agrees to dismantle a defense screen from the Zelbinion for installation on Moya, but during the process, a Sheyang attacks. Crichton and Aeryn defeat the Sheyang ship. They return to Moya, but Gilina remains on the Zelbinion to await her commander's return.

25
"That Old Black Magic"

While trying to find medicine for Rygel on a primitive planet, Crichton finds himself in the ethereal world of the evil sorcerer Maldis. Maldis, wanting to pit Crichton against his worst enemy, transports Crais' consciousness to his realm and unleashes him against Crichton. Meanwhile the crews of Moya and the Command Carrier investigate the mysterious comatose conditions of Crichton and Crais' mortal forms...

Farscape Files
Instead of binoculars, the crew of Moya uses a Peacekeeper vision enhancer known as an ocular. The device is neural, not optical, so nothing goes in front of the user's eyes.

26
"That Old Black Magic"

Zhaan trains with a local former priest Liko to develop her skills to face Maldis while Aeryn and D'Argo unsuccessfully attempt to breach the barriers guarding Maldis' realm. Feeding on the violence, Maldis watches Crais pursue Crichton and masterfully manipulates them against one another. Crichton tries to convince Crais of his innocence, but Maldis conjures up images of Crais' brother Tauvo which only fuels Crais' rage...

Farscape Files
Maldis can somehow access the thoughts and memories of his prisoners. He knows that Crichton's mother's maiden name is McDougall and that he skipped 3rd grade. He doesn't get everything right. When Maldis reminds Crichton about losing his virginity to Karen Shaw in a minivan, Crichton corrects him -- it was in a 4x4.

27
"That Old Black Magic"

Working together, Zhaan and Liko manage to defeat Maldis, but at great cost -- with Zhaan awakening to the darkest period of herself -- a darkness she worked hard to subdue in the Delvian Seek. Crichton and Crais return to their mortal bodies and Maldis' existence is dispersed.

Guest Cast: Lani Tupu (Crais), Chris Haywood (Maldis/Igg/Haloth), Grant Bowler (Liko), Christine Stephen-Daly (Lt. Teeg).

28
DNA Mad Scientist

Namtar, a genetic scientist, has devised a method of deriving star charts of a species' homeworld by examining a genetic sample of the species. Crichton, D'Argo, Zhaan and Rygel submit to the examination, but Aeryn knows she can never return home. Namtar offers the charts in exchange for one of Pilot's arms and, thinking only of their chance to return home, D'Argo, Zhaan and Rygel meet the asking price.

Farscape Files
Time flies on the other end of the universe. The crew of Moya keep time using a system of arns and microts. An arn is roughly an hour and a microt is about a second.

29
DNA Mad Scientist

While D'Argo, Zhaan and Rygel argue about whose home world will be Moya's first stop. Aeryn returns to Namtar with hopes of finding an outlying Sebacean settlement out of PK jurisdiction. Consumed by his own depraved experiments, Namtar injects Aeryn with a sample of Pilot's DNA and begins a frightening metamorphosis...

Farscape Files
When unable to find fresh food, the crew of Moya depends upon food cubes, which are essentially Peacekeeper prisoner field rations. Food cubes provide nutrition, but are far from appetizing.

30
DNA Mad Scientist

Crichton learns from Namtar's "assistant," Kornata, that she was once the researcher and Namtar was but a lab animal. Using genetic science, Namtar has given himself the best traits of many species on his way to becoming "the perfect species." With Kornata's help, both Aeryn and Namtar are returned to their original forms. The star charts useless, Moya's crew is no closer to home than they were when they arrived.

Farscape Files

Guest Cast: Sarah Burns (Kornata), Julian Garner (Namtar - Voice), Adrian Getley (Namtar - Movement).

31
"They've Got A Secret"

While on a routine check of Moya, D'Argo accidentally triggers a blast of particles and is ejected into the vacuum of space. After he is brought back on board, he begins to suffer pre-imprisonment flashbacks, perceiving each member of the crew as someone from his past. Meanwhile, Pilot collapses over his console leading the crew to believe the particles are a virus.

Farscape Files
When D'Argo is out of the ship, his hearts, lungs and hananx are frozen -- causing a condition of deep space interna-thermia. Luxans can survive in a vacuum for a quarter of an arn, but they must be revived soon after or they will suffer irreparable damage.

32
"They've Got A Secret"

Upon analysis, Zhaan learns the strange particles are not a virus, but minute pieces of bio-mechanoid material sharing Moya's genetic signature. In order to find the source of the particles, the crew must play their parts with D'Argo and hope his mind will return to thoughts of the present. The crew learns the true cause of D'Argo's imprisonment -- his brother-in-law killed his Sebacean wife, Lo'Laan, and framed him for the murder.

Farscape Files
Although Aeryn appears to be rid of all external signs of Pilot's DNA, she seems to still have some of pilot's genetic code -- as demonstrated by her intuitive ability to control Pilot's console.

33
"They've Got A Secret"

When D'Argo's memory is restored, Crichton heads for the source of the particle explosion and finally discovers the truth behind the mysterious particles and the DRDs' overzealous behavior -- Moya is pregnant. The particles were the catalyst -- kept in check by the PK shield that D'Argo inadvertently shattered. Since the gestation period of Leviathans is unknown, the crew doesn't know what to expect in the cycle ahead.

Directed by: Ian Watson
Guest Cast: Alison Fox (Lo'Laan), Grant Magee (Jothee).

34
"Till The Blood Runs Clear"

Crichton has modified his Farscape module with some of Moya's spare parts and is researching solar flares with Aeryn when a small wormhole opens. The module suffers damage and must land at the Dam-Ba-Da Depot, where local mechanic Furlow begins repairs. While on the planet surface, Crichton and Aeryn meet two blood trackers (Rorf and Rorg) in search of Moya's escaped prisoners.

Farscape Files
Crais has deployed "Wanted Buoys" offering a bounty for the capture of Moya's fugitives. The devices also contain a secret message targeted to Aeryn -- offering her an honorable discharge in exchange for Crichton and the others.

35
"Till The Blood Runs Clear"

Crichton and Aeryn pose as blood trackers in pursuit of the fugitives. D'Argo lands on the planet surface to search for Crichton and Aeryn, but is captured by the blood trackers. To continue his charade, Crichton must inflict pain on his comrade, but eventually convinces him they are still on the same side.

Farscape Files
Delvian females are unusually sensitive to ionic radiation. They can experience a photogasm -- one of the gifts of the Delvian Seek.

36
"Till The Blood Runs Clear"

Meanwhile, while repelling another bounty hunter from Crichton's module, Aeryn suffers temporary blindness. Crichton helps D'Argo escape, but they are trapped by Rorf and Rorg. With Furlow's help, Aeryn reprograms the "Wanted Buoy" to convince the blood trackers that the bounty on the prisoners has been withdrawn. The crew returns to Moya, but only after Crichton surrenders his wormhole research to Furlow as payment for the repairs.

Directed by: Tony Tilse
Guest Cast: Magda Szubanski (Furlow), Jeremy Sims (Rorf), Jo Kerrigan (Rorg).

37
"Rhapsody in Blue"

A Delvian sect lures the crew of Moya to their planet to arrange a meeting between Zhaan and their leader. Zhaan's powers may hold the key to cure the sect's leader, Tahleen, from a madness that threatens to consume her. The Delvians keep the other members of Moya's crew occupied by presenting them with alternate realities. In Crichton's case, this is a reality in which his girlfriend, Alex, is now his wife, who has been with him on Moya all this time.

Farscape Files
The Delvian Unity is the sacred surrender of two minds to each other -- two spirits -- two souls. Both minds share the same space and exchange thoughts.

38
"Rhapsody in Blue"

When Zhaan agrees to share with Tahleen her ability to defend against rage, Tahleen instead steals the powers and Zhaan's dark nature surfaces further.

Farscape Files
When Delvians perform violent acts, the evil coursing through their bodies usually leads to insanity. After Zhaan committed the crime for which she was imprisoned, she was able to control the darkness inside her and repel the insanity.

39
"Rhapsody in Blue"

Tahleen's mate, Lorana, rebels against the sect and helps Crichton join with Zhaan to help restore her soul. He is able to show Zhaan that she is a good person -- her powers are not completely replaced, but she can control her rage once more.

Farscape Files

Guest Cast: Darlene Vogel (Alexandra/Lorana), Kate Raison (Tahleen), Max Phipps (Tuzak)

40
"The Flax"

After Crichton and Aeryn's transport pod becomes trapped in the Flax, an invisible net in space controlled by pirates, Moya is visited by a stranger named Staanz. A former pirate, Staanz now makes his living as a "garbologist" -- and by warning space travelers about the Flax. He agrees to help rescue Crichton and Aeryn from the Flax.

Farscape Files
According to Staanz, the Flax is 75 million zacrons long. (We don't know long a zacron is, but it's probably longer than a metra).

41
"The Flax"

Staanz reveals that a Luxan ship is trapped in the Flax, and D'Argo plans to visit the ship to search for star charts to his home world before rescuing Crichton and Aeryn. Meanwhile, the transport pod suffers damage and Crichton and Aeryn must depressurize the pod in order to make the repairs. Kcrackic, a pirate commander in search of Staanz, lands on Moya. Rygel tries to stall the pirate with a chess-like game of Tadek.

Farscape Files
A tokaar knife is a Luxan hand knife, made of bone and used in a ceremony by young males. In Episode two, since the Paddac beacon was sensitive to metal, Rygel used the tokaar to remove the beacon from Moya.

42
"The Flax"

With one space suit damaged, Crichton must be temporarily "killed" for a few minutes so Aeryn can wear the remaining suit and repair the pod. He teaches Aeryn CPR so she can revive him after she has made the repairs. D'Argo and Staanz finally reach the transport pod and rescue Crichton and Aeryn. Rygel loses his game of Tadek, and gives Kcrackic his prize -- Staanz's whereabouts -- which prove to be false coordinates.

Guest Cast: Rhys Muldoon (Staanz), John Bachelor (Kcrackic)

43
"Jeremiah Crichton"

Frustrated and in need of "some space," Crichton takes his module out for a spin. A side effect from Moya's pregnancy causes her to StarBurst before he returns. When Moya's crew finally finds him, he has been living on Acquar, an idyllic planet, where he has gained the respect of the local chieftain, the romantic interest of the chief's daughter, Lishala, and the envy of Rokon, the great hunter. D'Argo and Rygel land on the planet, but their transport pod is drained of all power as it enters the planet's atmosphere.

Farscape Files
On Acquar, the man who captures the heart of the chieftain's daughter becomes the next chief. Crichton does not want the position, but Lishala wants him.

44
"Jeremiah Crichton"

Believing Crichton has designs on Lishala, Rokon leads an attack on Crichton. D'Argo defends hims, but, soon after, Crichton, D'Argo and Rygel are captured. Before they can be sentenced, the Acquarans bow to Rygel, whom they believe to be their deity -- based on his resemblance to a sacred stone in their village.

Farscape Files
The timbala is the sacred text of the Acquaran people. It is written in ancient Hynerian -- a language in which Rygel was tutored as a child.

45
"Jeremiah Crichton"

Moya pinpoints the coordinates of the power-limiter to the Rygel-esque stone. Crichton, seeing a pair of small handprints in the stone, places Rygel's hands in the handprints and triggers the destruction of the power-limiting device. The Acquarans turn out to be an exiled Hynerian settlement, grounded for generations by the power-draining device.

Guest Cast: Natalie Mendoza (Lishala), Kevin Copeland (Rokon), John O'Brien (Kato-Re), Deni Gordon (Neera)

46
"Durka Returns"

Upon emerging from StarBurst, Moya nearly collides with a Nebari ship. The ship's passengers are brought aboard Moya - Salis, their leader; Chiana, a Nebari prisoner; and Rygel's old captor, Peacekeeper Captain Durka. Durka has been mentally cleansed by the Nebari and does not seem to be a threat, but Rygel is unsure of Durka's rebirth.

Farscape Files
A hundred cycles ago, when the Nebari encountered the Zelbinion, Durka abandoned ship. The Nebari picked him up and, during the ensuing century, cleansed his mind of all evil.

47
"Durka Returns"

Chiana, awaiting her own mental cleansing, is imprisoned on Moya, but with Rygel's help, she manages to escape. When Rygel decides to take revenge on his former torturer with a bomb, the blast undoes the Nebari mental cleansing and returns Durka to his evil incarnation.

Farscape Files
All this time, Rygel has been hiding explosives in his quarters. He assembled his bomb from a Jelifan casing and stevva crystals, but, fortunately for Crichton (and Moya), he didn't put enough stevva powder in the bomb.

48
"Durka Returns"

After Salis is killed, Durka takes command of Moya, controlling many of her systems. With Chiana's help, the crew regains control of Moya and Durka sets off on the Nebari transport. Crichton uses a bomb to force Moya to expel the ship, leaving Durka adrift and ready to be picked up by the Nebari for another round of mental cleansing. Chiana stays aboard Moya as yet another reluctant member of the crew.

Guest Cast: Gigi Edgley (Chiana), David Wheeler (Durka), Tiriel Mora (Salis)

49
"A Human Reaction"

After Pilot discovers a wormhole resembling the one which brought the Farscape module to Moya, Crichton boards his module and heads for home. He crash lands in Australia and is quarantined when alien bacteria (the translator microbes) are found in his system. Crichton's father arrives and persuades the military to set his son free.

Farscape Files
Crichton carries a good luck charm given to him by his father. The Russian puzzle ring was a gift to the elder Crichton by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

50
"A Human Reaction"

Aeryn, D'Argo and Rygel, having gone to investigate the wormhole, are sucked through and land on Earth, where they are imprisoned by military authorities. After Rygel dies during tests and D'Argo is taken for examination, Aeryn escapes and travels with Crichton to a safe house.

Farscape Files
Time flies in the world of Farscape. An arn is approximately one hour. A microt is about one second and a cycle is equivalent to a year.

51
"A Human Reaction"

Upon realizing that everything and everyone he sees is based on people and places he's seen before, Crichton enters a ladies room in a pool hall -- someplace he hasn't been -- and learns that his whole trip home was a test. An alien species, needing a "human reaction" to an alien's presence, had constructed the entire experience to see how Earth would react to extraterrestrials.

Guest Cast: Gigi Edgley (Chiana), Kent McCord (Jack Crichton), Phillip Gordon (Wilson), Richard Sydenham (Cobb)

52
"Through The Looking Glass"

While trying to prove that her pregnancy is not endangering her passengers, Moya prematurely attempts StarBurst. Unfortunately, Moya experiences a dimensional schism and is split into at least four separate Moyas, each occupying the same space, but radiating four different colors in four different dimensions.

Farscape Files
The crew of Moya usually dines on food cubes, but when they can find fresh food, mealtime is a little more exotic. Some dishes include smoked pronga sinew and cholian curd salad.

53
"Through The Looking Glass"

The crew splits up to investigate and soon find themselves separated on parallel Moyas. To compound their problems, a giant creature starts to slash through Moya. Crichton finds a path from one to the other and coordinates the crew to activate the engines in all four Moyas in reverse at the same time to back out the way it came.

Farscape Files
According to Pilot, the dimensional schism is based on a mathematical hypothesis in which light and sound are disjointed into base elements -- the primary colors. Since StarBurst is the seam between space-time dimensions, it is possible for a body to become trapped between dimensions if it does not have enough velocity to complete the StarBurst.

"Through The Looking Glass"

After communicating with the creature, Crichton learns that Moya is stuck in StarBurst and the only way to escape is to move forward. Crichton again travels through the four Moyas and tells the crew to move the engines forward. Moya breaks through and completes the StarBurst.

55
"A Bug's Life"

Moya encounters a damaged Peacekeeper vessel. Crichton poses as Moya's Peacekeeper captain, with Aeryn and Chiana as his crew and D'Argo, Zhaan and Rygel returning to their cells as prisoners. Crichton learns that the PK captain, Larraq, is delivering a valuable and dangerous cargo to the secret Peacekeeper Gammak base.

Farscape Files
Since the Peacekeepers have no jurisdiction in the Uncharted Territories, the existence of the new Gammak base came as a great surprise to Moya's crew.

56
"A Bug's Life"

Chiana and Rygel, letting their thieving nature get the better of them, open the Peacekeepers' cargo and in doing so, release the Intellant virus. The virus is a sentient life form that jumps from host to host, inflicting death and carnage on its journey, leaving its hosts with no recollection of having been infected.

Farscape Files
The Peacekeepers want to study, tame and use the Intellant virus as a weapon. The virus can only infect one host at a time -- unless it gets a chance to lay spores. If given an arn inside a single host, it could lay millions of spores. If this happens, a large section of the galaxy is, in Larraq's words, in "some very deep dren."

57
"A Bug's Life"

Zhaan formulates an antibody that will identify the person carrying the virus, but Larraq escapes before he can be injected. As he heads for his damaged Marauder, he stabs Aeryn in the chest. Crichton allows the Marauder, still leaking fuel, to escape, but when Crichton asks Moya to perform the initial steps of StarBurst, the fuel is ignited and the Marauder is destroyed.

Guest Cast: Gigi Edgley (Chiana), Paul Leyden (Larraq), Richard White (Thonn)

58
"Nerve"

While Aeryn's stab wound has healed, her paraphoral nerve was damaged and she must receive a graft from a compatible donor in order to live. Crichton again dons his guise as a Peacekeeper and he and Chiana head to the secret Peacekeeper Gammak base.

Farscape Files
The paraphoral nerve regulates toxin removal functions in Sebaceans. Once severed, the nerve cannot regenerate on its own. Without the nerve, poisons build up in the body and eventually kill the victim.

59
"Nerve"

Upon arrival at the base, Crichton and Chiana receive assistance from an old friend -- Gilina, the PK Tech who assisted Moya in "PK Tech Girl." Gilina obtains a synthetic graft for Aeryn from the base medical unit, but before Crichton can return to Moya, he is unmasked as an imposter and imprisoned by the evil PK Scorpius...

Farscape Files
Scorpius is a Scarran/Sebacean half-breed. The fact that Scarrans radiate extreme heat while Sebaceans cannot tolerate high temperatures causes problems for Scorpius. The complex protective suit he wears compensates for his thermal imbalance.

60
"Nerve"

In search of wormhole technology, Scorpius probes Crichton's mind using the Aurora Chair and learns that the Ancients which Crichton encountered in "A Human Reaction" have buried wormhole information deep within Crichton's subconscious. While Crichton is probed and tortured, Gilina helps Chiana escape and bring the graft back to Moya. Aeryn is saved, but Crichton's life is still in danger.

Written by: Richard Manning
Directed by: Rowan Woods
Guest Cast: Gigi Edgley (Chiana), Lani Tupu (Captain Crais), Alyssa-Jane Cook (Gilina), Kent McCord (Jack Crichton), Wayne Pygram (Scorpius), Paul Goddard (Stark).

61
"A Hidden Memory"

Although still weak from her ordeal, Aeryn heads to the Gammak base in order to save Crichton, who is still being subjected to the Aurora Chair. Crichton is blocking a memory that Scorpius believes it to be the key to wormhole technology. In truth, Crichton is blocking his memory of kissing Chiana on the Zelbinion.

Farscape Files
The Aurora Chair is Scorpius' mind probe device, able to rip memories from the brain and display them on a screen. Crichton's cellmate Stark, a member of the Banik slave race, has endured 100 sessions in the Chair over two cycles, but he is still able to hide thoughts from the Chair.

62
"A Hidden Memory"

Gilina tampers with the Aurora Chair and when Scorpius subjects Crais to the chair, the Peacekeeper Captain appears to have the information Scorpius seeks. Meanwhile, Moya's pregnancy suffers complications when the crew of Moya learn the child is a hybrid -- a Leviathan with weaponry created by Peacekeeper intervention. Having difficulty making its way through the birth canal, the child threatens to blast its way out...

Farscape Files
Why does D'Argo still use a somewhat primitive Qualta blade? Many years ago, a race far more feared than Peacekeepers, the Telocks, attacked Luxans for a thousand solar days. When the final assault came all the Luxans had were Qualta blades. As a result of their costly victory against the Telocks, Luxans believe when the darkest days come, the Qualta will rescue them. The Qualta has improved over the years -- it can now be transformed into a firing weapon -- the Qualta rifle.

63
"A Hidden Memory"

Aeryn helps Crichton escape from his cell, and, with Scorpius and Peacekeeper solders in pursuit, they make their way to the surface. Gilina opts to remain behind, but she is killed by Scorpius while helping Crichton leave the base. A makeshift Caesarian section allows Moya's child to be born.

64
"Bone To Be Wild"

Since Moya's baby is too young to survive StarBurst, Moya hides from the Peacekeepers in an asteroid field near the Gammak base. Moya receives a distress signal from the surface of a nearby asteroid and Crichton, D'Argo and Zhaan take a transport pod to investigate. Meanwhile, Aeryn boards Moya's child to help foster communication between the child and his mother.

Farscape Files
Zhaan, like all Delvians, is evolved from plant life. She is a form of sentient plant life, with cartilaginous fiber instead of bone, tuperadinous cellulose tissues and regenerative fascia membranes. Her blue color is caused by chloroplast tintation, and her yellow highlights are stomata for the transpiration of water.

65
"Bone To Be Wild"

On the surface of the asteroid, Crichton, D'Argo and Zhaan find a female creature named M'Lee who appears to be pursued by a monstrous beast. The "Beast" introduces himself as Br'nee, a botanist, and we soon learn that M'Lee is the predator. All is not as it seems -- M'Lee explains that her species was placed on the asteroid by Br'nee's people to consume the animal life and were left to feed on each other when the bones of others were exhausted. M'Lee is the last survivor.

Farscape Files
M'Lee is a calcivore, feeding off bones and leaving behind the flesh of her prey to rot. When she is hungry, her need for calcium makes the urge to attack difficult to control and she becomes a voracious creature. When sated, she returns to her docile form.

66
"Bone To Be Wild"

Zhaan disappears. Br'Nee tells Crichton she was taken by M'Lee, but since Zhaan is flora and has no bones, Crichton knows M'Lee would not hunger for her. Br'Nee has kidnapped Zhaan and used his molecular shrinking device to keep her as a sample of sentient plant life. Crichton frees her, but Br'Nee is accidently killed when he tries to stop the rescue. D'Argo promises the now starving M'Lee that a Peacekeeper patrol will land shortly after the transport pod leaves and she is free to feast on their bones. In the meantime, she dines on the remains of Br'Nee.

Guest Cast: Francesca Buller (M'Lee), Lani Tupu (Captain Crais), Wayne Pygram (Scorpius), Marton Csokas (Br'Nee).

67
"Family Ties"

Rygel leaves Moya and arrives on Crais' Command Carrier with a proposed deal. He offers Scorpius the whereabouts of Crichton and the others in exchange for his freedom. When Crais, who has virtually lost command of his vessel to Scorpius, tells Rygel that Scorpius has no intention of honoring his end of the bargain, Rygel returns to Moya. Crais joins him and asks the crew for asylum.

Farscape Files
Other attempts to breed a Leviathan warship ended with the death of both mother and child. This is most likely because the others were born in captivity -- with the mother wearing a Peacekeeper control collar.

68
"Family Ties"

The crew of Moya plan an escape. Crichton and D'Argo will fly a transport pod filled with explosives in an attempt to lure and distract the Command Carrier. This distraction will allow Moya to StarBurst to safety. The crew of Moya say their good-byes before what might possibly be a suicide mission.

Farscape Files
When Aeryn was young, she learned she was not simply an accident or a genetic birth, but the product of a loving relationship between her mother and a male she cared about. This makes Aeryn fundamentally different from most Peacekeepers.

69
"Family Ties"

After arming the explosives in the transport pod, and aiming the pod for the Gammak base, Crichton and D'Argo abandon ship and wait for Aeryn to pick them up. Meanwhile, Crais boards Moya's newly named child, Talyn, and separates him from Moya. With the Command Carrier now tracking Moya, the crew has no alternative -- they convince Moya to StarBurst and leave her child. Aeryn stays behind in the Prowler, still searching for Crichton and D'Argo, hoping to find them before D'Argo dies.
